1. Introduction Welcome to Grow It! ("the App"), operated by GrowithJessie Inc. ("we", "us", or "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide:

  • Your first name
  • Your email address
  • Your location (city or country)
  • Your interests and experience level
  • Notification preferences
  • Journal entries including photos, notes, and mood tracking

Information collected automatically:

  • User ID and account identifiers
  • Device type and operating system
  • App usage data (features used, frequency, interactions)
  • Scan history (images processed for identification)
  • Search history within the app
  • Project tracking data
  • Purchase and subscription status
  • Crash logs and diagnostic data

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To personalize your app experience
  • To send notifications you have opted into
  • To process and manage subscription payments
  • To improve the app and fix bugs
  • To provide customer support

4. Scanning & Images When you scan an item, the image is sent to our identification services (Google Gemini, PlantNet, iNaturalist) for processing. Images are not stored permanently on our servers after identification is complete.

5. Third Party Services We use the following third party services:

  • Google Gemini — item identification
  • PlantNet — plant identification
  • iNaturalist — animal and insect identification
  • Anthropic Claude — experiment suggestions and AI guidance
  • Apple In-App Purchases — subscription payment processing
  • Expo — app infrastructure and push notifications

Each of these services has their own privacy policy governing their use of data.

6. Data Storage Your personal data is stored securely using Supabase. We use industry standard encryption to protect your information.

7. Children's Privacy

Grow It! is designed for users of all ages including children. We comply with the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

For users under 13:

  • We require verifiable parental consent before creating an account
  • We collect only the minimum data necessary (first name and email)
  • We do not collect location data
  • We do not share personal information with third party advertisers
  • Parents and guardians may review, delete, or refuse further collection of their child's data by contacting us at jessie@growithjessie.com
  • Child accounts that are not verified by a parent within 7 days are automatically deleted

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information without your consent, please contact us immediately at jessie@growithjessie.com and we will delete the information promptly.

8. Push Notifications We only send push notifications if you opted in during onboarding. You can turn off notifications at any time in your device settings.

9. Your Rights You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Opt out of notifications at any time
  • Cancel your subscription at any time

10. Data Retention We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data will be deleted within 30 days.

11. Changes to This Policy We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes through the app.
